CBD 101 - What is CBD?
The truth about CBD
Known simply as CBD to most, Cannabidiol is one of over 113 potent compounds naturally derived from the resinous Hemp plant. Not to be confused with its Cannabaceae family member that is famous for its THC production. Patent 6,630,507, titled “Cannabinoids as antioxidants and neuroprotectants,” was issued on Oct. 7, 2003, to the United States as represented by the Department of Health Human Services. The patent recognizes the effectiveness of cannabinoids for treating oxidation-related diseases caused by free radicals, unstable molecules that damage cellular organisms, leading to illness and aging in humans, and their ability to protect neurons and heal damage to the Central Nervous System (CNS).
